Betrayal by Lesley Pearse

Standard

Although I had read a lot of Lesley Pearse books a long time ago, I had not had the opportunity to read her latest work. What a pleasure it was. Lesley has had a varied life and loves to tackle topics of difficult situations. This was no exception: Domestic abuse is a wider issue than often thought and the brutality of Don combined with the courage of Eve bring the story of domestic abuse to life. Some of the content was so realistic and leaves the reader with a mixture of emotions, heart-breaking at times and yet hopeful for the future of Eve and the children. A lovely, thought provoking read.

A Killer in the Family by Gytha Lodge

Standard

You would know if your son was a killer wouldn’t you? Would you? I was promised an exciting book with twists and turns and it lived up to it’s word. As a lone parent, Aisling has a good relationship with her two teenage boys. But there is a serial killer on the loose and the problem is that it is her son. What a fantastic concept with everyone hiding secrets that will eventually come out. Good strong characters and an excellent storyline make this a very enjoyable read.
